To minimize discomfort: avoid caffeine before your appointment, take an over-the-counter pain reliever 30 minutes prior, and schedule appointments for after your menstrual cycle when sensitivity is lower.

Before: Stop shaving 2-3 days prior, exfoliate gently 24 hours before, avoid sun exposure and retinoids for 24 hours, wear loose, comfortable clothing.
